Distribution
After looking into who has distributed previous British Realism films we found StudioCanal UK to have distributed big name British Realism films that we have looked at in our studies. They have released films such as This Is England and Fish tank, both films being succesfull at the box office in the UK.
With such a positive track record for releasing films from our genre we decided they would be perfect to distribute our film as it matches the themes of British Social Realism character driven films that they have released in the past.
Exhibition
We believe that due to our film being from a first time director with no previous record of films out film would be best suited to a release in independent British Cinemas. One cinema in particular that we have actually visited in our studies is the Electric Cinema in Birmingham that is well known for releasing a mix of mainstream and independent films and attracts a range of audiences. Its audience consists of self confessed film buffs that enjoy watching independent films as they offer a change from the norm and often due to their low budgets rely alot more on plot than special effects. We therefore believe that cinemas like the Electric in Birmingham would be perfect for the exhibition of our film
