Due to our plot revolving around prostitution we felt that the use of outfits and props was crucial to establish each of the characters roles in the story.
In terms of outfits we had Sara ( The prostitute ) have two outfits, her first "work" outfit consisted of a cheap grey hoodie with tights and heels something we found a typical prostitute would wear. The hoodie however was rather odd for a prostitute to wear due to it being quite covering, we felt this would indicate that Sara is fairly reluctant to be taking part in prostitution.
Her other outfit was somewhat more casual that she wears as her relationship with jacob develops, it indicates that she has a more innocent side to her and perhaps once led a normal life free from prostitution.
Jacob also has two seperate outfits shown in the trailer, his first is the outfit that he meets sara in and is casual indicating he is just a normal client, however as the trailer goes on he is shown in a shirt and tie indicating he perhaps has another proffesional life and it would be bad for him to be seen with a prostitute.
Props
We used props heavily in the intro to establish Sara and Jacobs character. In saras intro we implied the use of cocaine to demonstrate she was in the grips of an addiction. We also used more mundane props in Jacobs intro to demonstrate the normality and mundaness of his current life in contrast to Saras. We also ensured Jacob drove quite a good car to demonstrate he is earning a healthy wage and therefore goes against the stereotype of people that would normally visit a prostitute.
